When we started Wired Island more than 20 years ago, our vision was simple. Build a business that would allow us to do the work we love with people and companies we admire. We were lucky enough to have a network that made that easy. Having been on the corporate side for many years, we knew what we didn’t like in the traditional agency and consulting models. So our mission was to develop a better way to engage with and help our clients. That means access to experienced people who understand your business. And who can develop – and implement – the communications and marketing strategies that work best for your needs.”

He also started a couple of business of his own along the way so has sat in the entrepreneur’s hot seat. He has a vast network within various tech industries and his ‘content-first’ mentality is applied to a wide spectrum of communication disciplines that Wired Island offers.

Mike spent ten years on the ‘inside’ at Cadence Design Systems, overseeing the $1 billion firm’s global PR program and helping establish it as one of the world’s premier high-tech companies. Mike also worked at PC Week Magazine and as a journalist at daily newspapers in Boston and Houston, winning several Associated Press awards. What’s with the name Wired Island?

“We’d like to say it’s a long story but it really isn’t. After escaping from Silicon Valley during the (last) bubble, we got the business going on a tropical island – really! – and ran it from there for the first 13 years. If you want to hear the rest of the story, drop us a line or wait for the book to come out.”

Wired Island is a specialized PR and digital marketing agency focused on B2B clients in the technology space.

  • With roots in Silicon Valley, we’ve operated long before there was a Facebook or an iPhone

  • supporting companies from around the world with smart, effective communications programs

  • We work with early stage start-ups, to established global leaders, to government entities and trade organizations
